Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Quranlingo ("we", "our", or "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our websites and web-based dashboards (including quranlingo.app, quranlingo.com, and parents.quranlingo.app). Cookies and web analytics technologies are used on these web properties to improve user experience, analyse performance, and for marketing measurement. This policy does not apply to the native Quranlingo mobile learning app, which does not use behavioral analytics cookies or advertising trackers. We are committed to handling any personal data collected via these technologies in accordance with the EU ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR.
By using Quranlingo’s websites or web dashboards, you can choose which cookies or trackers you allow. You have the right to adjust your consent at any time. This policy details the types of cookies and trackers we use, their purposes, and how you can manage your preferences. For any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
Types of Cookies and Trackers We Use
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our websites and web-based dashboards. These fall into the following categories:
- Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential for our website’s core functionality. They enable features like user logins, security, and network management. Without these, the website cannot function properly. (These cookies are always active and do not require consent under the law.)
- Functional Cookies: These cookies allow us to remember your choices and preferences (such as language selection or font size) to provide enhanced, personalized features. They improve your experience but are not strictly required for basic operation.
- Analytics Cookies: These cookies collect information about how visitors use our websites and web dashboards. We use them to understand traffic patterns and visitor interactions. For example, we use analytics tools to see which web pages are popular and how visitors navigate our site. All data collected is aggregated and used to improve our web services. Analytics cookies are only set after you grant consent and are not used in the native mobile app.
- Marketing Cookies: These cookies track your online activity to help us deliver more relevant advertisements or measure the effectiveness of our marketing. On our website, marketing cookies (like the Facebook Pixel) help us understand when you visit Quranlingo after seeing an ad and to retarget content that might interest you. We do not use marketing trackers in our mobile app, only on the website.
Purpose of Each Cookie Category
Each category of cookies and trackers serves a specific purpose:
- Strictly Necessary: To ensure the website and app deliver the services you explicitly request. For instance, keeping you logged in or loading essential resources. These are deployed to maintain basic functionality and security.
- Functional: To enhance user experience by remembering your preferences and settings. For example, a functional cookie might remember that you prefer a certain language or that you have muted background audio, so you don’t have to set it every time.
- Analytics: To understand user behavior and improve our platform. Analytics tools gather data on page visits, time spent, and app feature usage. This helps us identify what content is engaging or if users encounter problems, so we can improve Quranlingo for everyone.
- Marketing: To personalize advertising and measure campaign effectiveness on our website. Marketing cookies help us show relevant ads on external platforms (like Facebook) to users who have shown interest in Quranlingo. They also let us know if our ads led you to sign up or engage with our site. (Marketing cookies are not used in the Quranlingo app.)
Third-Party Cookies and Trackers
We use some third-party services that set their own cookies or use tracking technologies. These third parties have their own privacy policies, but we list them here for transparency:
-
Google Analytics GA4 (Websites and Web Dashboards only): We use Google Analytics 4 to collect statistics about how visitors interact with our websites and web-based dashboards. Google Analytics places cookies (such as
_ga) on your browser to gather information like your IP address (which we anonymise), browser type, pages visited, time spent, and approximate geographic region. This data helps us improve web content and user experience. Google Analytics is activated only after you grant consent. It is not used in the native mobile app — the Firebase Analytics SDK is not present in the Quranlingo mobile app. For more details, you can review Google’s Cookie Policy.
-
Meta Pixel / Facebook Pixel (All Web Properties): We use a single Meta Pixel (pixel ID: 2355856941446524) across our main marketing website (quranlingo.com, including all product pages such as the card game), and our parent dashboard (parents.quranlingo.app). It sets cookies (for example,
_fbp, _fbc) that allow Meta to identify your browser across those two domains — a feature known as cross-domain tracking, which we have configured so that a visit to our marketing site and a subsequent action on the parent dashboard can be attributed to the same session.
The Pixel fires the following standard and custom events:
- PageView — on every page load of quranlingo.com and parents.quranlingo.app (after consent).
- ViewContent — when you view a key page, such as the landing page, the parents page, the schools page, the registration page, or the subscription page.
- CompleteRegistration — when you successfully verify your email via OTP on the parent dashboard, confirming that a new account has been created.
- InitiateCheckout — when you click a subscription button on the parent dashboard (monthly or annual), or when you click a "Get Started" or dashboard link on the parents marketing page. The event includes the subscription plan type and price.
- Purchase — when your subscription payment is confirmed by our payment provider (RevenueCat) and you are successfully logged in to the parent dashboard. This event includes the subscription value, currency, and plan type (monthly or annual).
- Lead — when you submit the school interest registration form on quranlingo.com/schools, the newsletter sign-up form on quranlingo.com/parents, or the card game launch notification form on quranlingo.com/the-card-game.
- AppDownloadClick (custom) — when you click an iOS App Store or Google Play button, including the platform (iOS or Android).
- SubscriberActivated (custom) — on your first-ever visit to the parent dashboard in a given browser, confirming that you are an active subscriber using the product.
This data is sent to Meta and allows us to measure the effectiveness of our ads on Facebook and Instagram, retarget visitors who showed intent, and build lookalike audiences. For instance, it helps us know if someone who saw a Quranlingo ad later registered or subscribed. We do not use the Meta Pixel in the Quranlingo mobile app, and we do not use it to track children's personal data — the pixel is restricted to adult-facing pages. You can read more in the Meta Cookies & Pixel Policy.
-
TikTok Pixel (All Web Properties): We use a TikTok Pixel (pixel ID: CUU4I6JC77U38KO2GRPG) across our main marketing website (quranlingo.com) and our parent dashboard (parents.quranlingo.app). The pixel is loaded only after you have granted cookie consent.
The TikTok Pixel fires the following events:
- PageView — on every page load (after consent), via
ttq.page().
- ViewContent — when you view a key page such as the landing page, the parents page, the schools page, the card game page, the registration page, or the subscription page.
- CompleteRegistration — when you successfully verify your email via OTP on the parent dashboard.
- InitiateCheckout — when you click a subscription button on the parent dashboard or a "Get Started" link on the parents marketing page.
- Subscribe — when your subscription payment is confirmed and you are successfully logged in to the parent dashboard. This event includes the subscription value, currency, and plan type.
- SubmitForm — when you submit the school interest form, the newsletter sign-up form on the parents page, or the card game launch notification form.
- Download — when you click an iOS App Store or Google Play button, including the platform (iOS or Android).
- SubscriberActivated (custom) — on your first-ever visit to the parent dashboard in a given browser, confirming that you are an active subscriber using the product.
This data is sent to TikTok and helps us measure the effectiveness of our TikTok ads, retarget visitors who showed intent, and build lookalike audiences. We do not use the TikTok Pixel in the Quranlingo mobile app, and we do not use it to track children's personal data — the pixel is restricted to adult-facing pages. You can read more in the TikTok Privacy Policy.
Managing and Withdrawing Consent
Your Choices: You have control over whether non-essential cookies and trackers are used. When you first visit our website or install our app, we will ask for your consent to enable certain categories (like Analytics or Marketing). Here’s how you can manage or withdraw your consent later:
- On the Website: A cookie consent banner will appear on your first visit. You can choose “Accept All” to allow all cookie categories, or “Reject” / “Manage Preferences” to refuse or selectively allow categories like Analytics and Marketing. If you initially consented but later change your mind, you can find a “Cookie Settings” link (for example, in our website footer) at any time. Clicking that link will reopen the consent preferences, allowing you to change which cookies are active. You can also remove cookies via your browser settings (most browsers let you delete cookies or block them for specific sites). Keep in mind, disabling certain cookies may impact some features of the site (for instance, we won’t remember your preferences or gather analytics data after you opt out).
- On the Mobile App: The Quranlingo mobile learning app does not use behavioral analytics cookies or advertising trackers. Cookie consent choices made on our website do not extend to the native app. Push Notifications: The first time the app wants to send you a notification, your device OS will ask for your permission. If you grant it, you will receive learning reminders and account alerts; if you deny it, no notifications will be sent. You can change notification permissions at any time in your device settings (for example, in iOS or Android notification settings for the Quranlingo app).
Withdrawal of Consent: If you withdraw consent for a category of cookies/trackers, we will stop collecting new data from those tools. (Note: If you disable Analytics, for example, new analytics data won’t be sent, but previously collected aggregate data may still be part of our overall statistics. If you disable Marketing cookies, our site will cease using the Facebook Pixel for your visits going forward.) You can also contact us at [email protected] if you need assistance with changing your preferences.
Compliance with EU Law (ePrivacy and GDPR)
We abide by the EU ePrivacy Directive and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in our use of cookies and trackers. This means:
- Consent First: We will not set non-essential Analytics or Marketing cookies on our web properties without your prior consent. The native mobile learning app does not contain behavioral analytics or advertising trackers. Push notifications are optional and require the applicable device permission.
- Transparency: We inform you clearly about what cookies and trackers are in use and why (through this policy and the consent prompts). You can always refer to this Cookie Policy for details on each tool and its purpose.
- Data Protection: Any personal data collected via these cookies/trackers (such as an IP address, browser identifier, or hashed event data) is handled securely and only used for the stated purposes. We treat such data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and GDPR principles, meaning we apply appropriate security measures and only retain the data as long as necessary.
- User Rights: Under GDPR, you have rights regarding your personal data. While this Cookie Policy mainly covers how we use tracking technologies, remember that you can request access to your data, ask for corrections, or even deletion of data collected via cookies where applicable. If you have concerns about personal data collected by a cookie or tracker, you can reach out to us at our privacy contact (see below) for assistance.
In summary, we strive to be fully compliant: we only use non-essential cookies with consent, we keep you informed, and we protect the data we collect.
